Solution keys for BioIQ, ReadIQ, GeometrIQ and ChemIQ - Teachers, Parents please note

Hi Teachers and Parents,

Once in a while, we get an email asking us for the solution for a particular game level. That got us thinking that maybe there could be others who wanted to get the answer keys, but were hesitant to mail us.

BioIQ for Intel Ultimate Coder Challenger, the final build

This is the last post as a part of the Intel Ultimate Challenger series.  By the coming Friday, we will have submitted the build to the judges.   This post is an analysis of the changes and the features of BioIQ.

Before we get to the analysis, here is a status update –

  1. The Windows 8 version is ready and we will be submitting it to the judges and theWin 8 store later this week.
  2. The AppUp version is also ready.  We will go through the store certification process before we get it up on the AppUp store.

 

Towards Beta… and figuring out Monetization

Last week and the week before, we got local storage  and the structure of the UX in place.  We are into week 4 and this week our focus was on testing for performance and certification validation, and figuring out monetization

Local Storage, our approach

Last week we sorted out the UI/UX (http://www.clefsoftware.com/blog/bioiq-ux-ultrabook).  This week we worked on settling on an approach for local storage.

At the outset, our preference was to use SQLite.  These features  make it a good choice for our context. We have used it before, are familiar with it and we like it. We weren’t able to get it to work in our first attempt.  We dug around and asked some friends.

In this week’s post we will focus on some of the UX decisions that we have made and the rationale behind them. We will also share some how-to for the developer in you, who may be thinking about your own apps and/or plans for building one on Windows 8-Ultrabook.
